About the Role

Are you an experienced teaching assistant or someone passionate about working with children and ready to take the next step into teaching? A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Norfolk is offering a unique opportunity to begin your teacher training journey through a salaried HLTA position.

Located in one of Norfolk’s picturesque towns, surrounded by beautiful countryside and within easy reach of the coast, the school has a strong ethos of inclusion, creativity, and child-centred learning. With a supportive team and a clear commitment to professional development, it’s the ideal place to grow into the role of a fully qualified teacher.

The Role:
As a HLTA, you’ll work closely with class teachers across Key Stage 1 and 2, delivering lessons, supporting small group work, and helping to raise pupil achievement. Alongside your classroom responsibilities, you’ll be enrolled on the Grad2Teach programme – a structured, salaried route to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE.

This is a perfect role for someone who is ready to build on their classroom experience and fully commit to a career in teaching while continuing to learn on the job.

About Grad2Teach:
Grad2Teach provides salaried, in-school teacher training that leads to QTS and PGCE. It is a supportive and practical pathway designed for graduates and career changers looking to develop as confident, reflective classroom practitioners.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Someone with prior school experience (desirable), ideally in a TA or HLTA role

  • A UK undergraduate degree

  • GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above in English, Science and Mathematics

  • A passion for teaching and supporting children’s development

  • Readiness to take on a long-term training journey in a nurturing school setting

What You’ll Receive:

  • A salaried HLTA position in a supportive Norfolk primary school

  • A clear and structured route to QTS and PGCE through Grad2Teach

  • Mentorship and professional development throughout your training

  • The chance to make a real difference in children’s lives from day one

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in education to move confidently into teaching, supported every step of the way in a friendly and forward-thinking Norfolk school.
