About the Role

Are you a mathematics graduate, career changer, or aspiring teacher looking for a salaried route into teaching?

Grad2Teach is recruiting a Trainee Mathematics Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Suffolk. This exciting opportunity allows you to gain valuable classroom experience while earning a salary and working towards becoming a fully qualified Mathematics teacher through our structured teacher training programme.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about mathematics education and want to develop their teaching skills in a supportive school environment while progressing towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

About the Role

As a Trainee Mathematics Teacher, you will become an integral member of the school's mathematics department, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 while developing your own teaching practice.

You will:

  • Support Mathematics lessons and small-group interventions.
  • Assist students in developing confidence and competence in numeracy and problem-solving.
  • Deliver learning activities under the guidance of experienced teachers.
  • Develop classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Build experience in lesson planning, assessment, and student progress tracking.
  • Progress through Grad2Teach's structured salaried teacher training pathway.

Throughout Phase One, you will gain extensive classroom experience while completing a Level 4 qualification designed to prepare you for formal Initial Teacher Training.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who:

  • Holds a degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Has a genuine passion for education and inspiring young people.
  • Is considering a long-term career in teaching.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Is resilient, adaptable, and eager to learn.
  • May already have experience working with young people through tutoring, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or classroom support.

Whether you are a recent graduate, career changer, cover supervisor, teaching assistant, or aspiring educator, we would love to hear from you.

Training & Progression

Grad2Teach offers a unique two-phase salaried teacher training programme designed to develop confident and successful teachers.

  • Take on increased teaching responsibility.
  • Teach independently within the Mathematics department.
  • Complete a PGCE with Coventry University and work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

This structured pathway provides an excellent route into a rewarding teaching career.
