Grad2Teach is recruiting a Trainee Mathematics Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Suffolk. This exciting opportunity allows you to gain valuable classroom experience while earning a salary and working towards becoming a fully qualified Mathematics teacher through our structured teacher training programme.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about mathematics education and want to develop their teaching skills in a supportive school environment while progressing towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
About the Role
As a Trainee Mathematics Teacher, you will become an integral member of the school's mathematics department, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 while developing your own teaching practice.
You will:
- Support Mathematics lessons and small-group interventions.
- Assist students in developing confidence and competence in numeracy and problem-solving.
- Deliver learning activities under the guidance of experienced teachers.
- Develop classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Build experience in lesson planning, assessment, and student progress tracking.
- Progress through Grad2Teach's structured salaried teacher training pathway.
Throughout Phase One, you will gain extensive classroom experience while completing a Level 4 qualification designed to prepare you for formal Initial Teacher Training.
About You
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who:
- Holds a degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
- Has a genuine passion for education and inspiring young people.
- Is considering a long-term career in teaching.
- Demonstrates strong communication and organisational skills.
- Is resilient, adaptable, and eager to learn.
- May already have experience working with young people through tutoring, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or classroom support.

Training & Progression
Grad2Teach offers a unique two-phase salaried teacher training programme designed to develop confident and successful teachers.
Phase One
During Phase One, you will:
- Earn while you train.
- Complete a Level 4 NCFE qualification.
- Receive structured training aligned to the Teachers' Standards and Core Content Framework (CCF).
- Gain practical classroom experience without the pressure of a full teaching timetable.

Phase Two
Once ready, you will progress into Phase Two where you will:
