About the Role

Working alongside experienced teachers, you will help deliver stimulating lessons in Law and Psychology, encourage critical thinking, and prepare learners for academic success and progression into higher education or employment. As your confidence grows, you will take increasing responsibility for planning, teaching, and assessing learning as part of Grad2Teach's structured teacher training programme.

This graduate teaching role provides the perfect pathway into teaching for candidates who already have classroom experience and are committed to becoming outstanding educators.

We're looking for an enthusiastic graduate trainee, future teacher, or experienced education professional who is ready to build a rewarding career in secondary education.

You should have:

  • A UK undergraduate degree (or equivalent), ideally in Law, Psychology, Criminology, Social Sciences, or a related subject.
  • Previous teaching or classroom experience (essential), such as teaching, tutoring, lecturing, cover supervision, training, or significant classroom leadership.
  • A genuine passion for both Law and Psychology and the ability to inspire young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and classroom management abilities.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
  • The ambition to achieve Qualified Teacher Status through a salaried route.

Whether you are currently working as an unqualified teacher, tutor, instructor, cover supervisor, or experienced teaching assistant with substantial teaching responsibilities, this graduate trainee teacher opportunity offers an excellent route into the profession.

Training & Progression

Grad2Teach provides a structured salaried teacher training programme that combines practical classroom experience with high-quality professional development.

During Phase One, you will:

  • Complete the Level 4 qualification.
  • Develop your teaching practice using the Core Content Framework (CCF).
  • Build evidence towards the Teachers' Standards.
  • Receive expert mentoring and regular instructional coaching.
  • Develop confidence in lesson planning, classroom management, assessment, and curriculum delivery.

Following successful completion of Phase One, you'll progress into Phase Two, where you will:

  • Undertake increased independent teaching responsibilities.
  • Continue developing your subject pedagogy.
  • Work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Complete a PGCE with Coventry University through the Grad2Teach programme.
