A supportive secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a passionate and motivated Graduate Trainee History Teacher to join its humanities department through the Grad2Teach salaried teacher training programme.

About the Role
As a Phase One Trainee Teacher, you will gain valuable classroom experience supporting History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 while completing a structured Level 4 qualification through Grad2Teach.
You will work alongside experienced teachers, gradually developing your teaching practice, classroom confidence, and subject knowledge delivery in a real school environment.
This salaried teacher training programme is designed to provide a supportive introduction to teaching without the pressure of a full teaching timetable during the initial phase. Training is delivered outside of teaching hours, allowing you to maximise your in-school experience.
Your role may include:
- Supporting History lessons and humanities learning
- Working with pupils in small groups and whole-class settings
- Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom activities
- Developing behaviour management and teaching strategies
- Building evidence towards the Teachers’ Standards and Core Content Framework (CCF)
- Progressing towards independent teaching responsibilities
About You
We are looking for a graduate trainee, aspiring History teacher, or future educator who:
- Holds a degree in History or a related subject
- Has a genuine passion for education and historical learning
- Is motivated to train as a secondary teacher
- Demonstrates strong communication and organisational skills
- Is reliable, reflective, and eager to learn
- Has experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)

Training & Progression
