About the Role
As a Phase One Trainee Teacher, you will support Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop an understanding of the world around them while building your own teaching expertise. Working alongside experienced educators, you will receive high-quality mentoring, coaching, and professional development as you complete the Grad2Teach Level 4 qualification.
This salaried teacher training opportunity provides a clear pathway into Phase Two, leading towards a PGCE with Coventry University and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of engaging and inclusive Geography lessons.
- Assist students in understanding physical, human, and environmental geography.
- Help prepare classroom resources and learning activities.
- Support student progress, achievement, and engagement.
- Develop effective classroom management and teaching techniques.
- Work collaboratively with experienced teachers and mentors.
- Contribute positively to the wider school community.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate trainee, aspiring teacher, future Geography teacher, or trainee educator who is passionate about education and inspiring young people.
You may be:
- A Geography graduate or hold a degree in a related field such as Environmental Science, Geology, Sustainability, Earth Sciences, or International Development.
- Interested in pursuing a long-term career in secondary education.
- Looking for a practical, paid route into teaching.
- Motivated, resilient, and eager to learn.
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Organised, reliable, and committed to professional development.
Experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, classroom support, or voluntary activities would be beneficial but is not essential.
Training & Progression

Phase One
During Phase One, you will:
- Complete the Grad2Teach Level 4 Qualification.
- Gain practical classroom experience from day one.
