About the Role
A supportive secondary school in Norfolk is seeking a passionate and motivated Food Technology Trainee Teacher to join its growing team through the Grad2Teach salaried teacher training programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate trainee, aspiring teacher, or career changer who wants to gain classroom experience while working towards becoming a fully qualified teacher. As a Phase One Trainee Teacher, you will support Food Technology lessons, develop practical classroom skills, and build confidence in delivering engaging learning experiences to secondary students.
The Grad2Teach programme offers a structured, salaried route into teaching, allowing trainees to earn while they learn. During Phase One, you will complete a Level 4 qualification focused on the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework (CCF), preparing you for progression into Phase Two and a PGCE with Coventry University.

Training & Progression

Phase One – Level 4 Qualification
During Phase One, trainees:
- Gain valuable classroom experience without the pressure of a full teaching timetable
- Complete a Level 4 NCFE qualification
- Receive training aligned to the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teachers’ Standards
- Attend structured training sessions outside teaching hours
- Build professional skills through mentoring, observations, and reflective practice
Phase Two – PGCE with QTS
Following successful completion of Phase One, trainees can progress into Phase Two, which includes:
- Independent teaching experience
- A PGCE with Coventry University
- Ongoing mentor and Grad2Teach support
- Progression towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- 60 Master’s level credits through the PGCE pathway
