  • Previous classroom experience through teaching, tutoring, cover supervision, teaching assistance, or another educational setting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and classroom management abilities.

Training & Progression

Grad2Teach's Phase One Teacher Training Programme combines practical classroom experience with structured professional development.

During Phase One, you will:

  • Complete a recognised Level 4 qualification.
  • Develop your teaching practice through the Core Content Framework (CCF).
  • Build evidence towards meeting the Teachers' Standards.
  • Receive regular mentoring, coaching, and developmental observations.
  • Gain increasing responsibility for planning and delivering high-quality English lessons.

Following successful completion of Phase One, you will progress into Phase Two, where you will:

  • Undertake greater independent teaching responsibilities.
  • Continue developing your classroom practice and subject expertise.
  • Work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Complete a PGCE with Coventry University.
