You’ll be instrumental in maintaining learning momentum when teachers are absent, supporting behaviour, engagement, and academic progress across a range of subjects.
This is a full-time, salaried training position, offering you the chance to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) while working directly with pupils every day.

What the Role Involves
You’ll have the opportunity to:
-
Supervise lessons and maintain a positive learning environment in the absence of the class teacher
-
Follow set plans to keep students engaged and on task
-
Promote the school’s behavioural expectations and routines
-
Support students both academically and pastorally
-
Assist with duties at break, lunch, and during school events or trips
-
Take part in exam invigilation and intervention support
-
Report on student behaviour and learning outcomes to relevant staff
-
Provide administrative and classroom support when cover is not required
This is an ideal stepping stone to teaching and offers valuable classroom management experience.
Who We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for someone who:
-
Holds a bachelor’s degree in any subject
-
Has GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above
-
Has experience working with young people (in education, youth work or care settings)

Communicates clearly and confidently, including in front of groups
-
Can build strong, respectful relationships with students and staff
-
Is calm, methodical and solution-focused under pressure
-
Is ready to grow as a teacher and leader of learning
