About the Role

Are you a graduate, aspiring teacher, or career changer with a passion for Computer Science and technology? A supportive secondary school in Norfolk is seeking a motivated Computer Science Trainee Teacher to join its teaching team through the Grad2Teach salaried teacher training programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while training towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Through Grad2Teach, you will follow a structured, salaried pathway designed to help future teachers develop confidence, professional knowledge, and practical teaching skills in a real school environment.

About the Role

As a Computer Science Trainee Teacher, you will work alongside experienced educators in a secondary school setting in Norfolk, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will gradually build your teaching responsibilities while completing a structured training programme.

This graduate teaching role is ideal for someone looking for a practical and supportive route into education without stepping away from employment.

You will:

  • Support the delivery of engaging Computer Science and ICT lessons
  • Gain hands-on classroom experience from day one
  • Develop skills in lesson planning, behaviour management, and assessment
  • Train through Grad2Teach’s salaried teacher training programme
  • Complete a Level 4 qualification during Phase One
  • Progress towards a PGCE with QTS in Phase Two

Grad2Teach’s programme combines in-school experience with structured professional development aligned to the Teachers’ Standards and Core Content Framework (CCF).

About You

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic graduate trainee who is ready to begin a rewarding career in education.

You may be:

  • A Computer Science graduate
  • A career changer with experience in technology, coding, IT, or digital industries
  • A teaching assistant or unqualified teacher looking to progress
  • An aspiring educator interested in salaried teacher training in Norfolk

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree or relevant experience in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young people
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • A commitment to professional development and learning

Training & Progression

Grad2Teach provides a structured two-phase training programme designed to develop confident, capable teachers.

Phase One – Level 4 Qualification

During Phase One, trainees complete a Level 4 NCFE qualification while gaining classroom experience without the pressure of a full teaching timetable. Training is delivered outside of teaching hours and focuses on:

  • Teaching Standards
  • Core Content Framework (CCF)
  • Classroom practice
  • Behaviour management
  • Assessment and planning

Phase Two – PGCE with QTS

Successful trainees can progress into Phase Two, where they teach more independently while completing a PGCE with Coventry University partners.

This route leads to:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • PGCE qualification
  • 60 Master’s credits
  • Long-term career opportunities within secondary education
