About the Role

A supportive secondary school in Norwood, South London is seeking a passionate Computer Science Trainee Teacher to join their team from September 2026 through the Grad2Teach salaried teacher training programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in Computer Science, IT, Digital Media, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related subject who wants to gain classroom experience while working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE.
About the Role
As a Computer Science Trainee Teacher, you will work within a secondary school environment supporting pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 while developing your teaching practice through Grad2Teach’s structured training pathway.
This salaried graduate teaching role allows you to:
- Earn while you train
- Gain hands-on classroom experience
- Develop your teaching skills gradually
- Work towards a Level 4 qualification during Phase One
- Progress onto a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University
You will initially support teaching and learning in Computer Science lessons, assist with programming and digital literacy activities, and gradually take on increased classroom responsibility as your confidence grows.

Training & Progression
Grad2Teach is a salaried initial teacher training programme designed to help aspiring teachers develop confidently within schools.
Phase One
During Phase One you will:
- Complete a Level 4 NCFE qualification
- Train alongside experienced teachers
- Develop classroom management and lesson planning skills
- Receive mentoring and coaching support
- Build evidence against the Teachers’ Standards
Phase Two
Once ready, you will progress onto:
- A PGCE with QTS through Coventry University
- Independent teaching responsibilities
- Further professional development and academic study
- A long-term pathway into a teaching career
The programme combines practical classroom experience with structured training, helping trainees become confident and capable educators.
