About the Role
As a Trainee Chemistry Teacher, you will work within a thriving secondary school environment in Norfolk, supporting pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 while developing your teaching practice.
This graduate trainee teaching role is ideal for someone passionate about Chemistry education and eager to begin a long-term teaching career through a structured salaried teacher training programme.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting Chemistry lessons and practical science activities
- Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom management
- Delivering small group interventions and targeted support
- Gradually developing independent teaching responsibilities
- Building classroom confidence through supported teaching practice
- Working closely with experienced science teachers and mentors
During Phase One, you will gain valuable classroom experience without the pressure of a full teaching timetable.

Training & Progression
Grad2Teach provides a structured, school-based training pathway designed to develop confident and capable teachers.
Phase One – Level 4 Qualification
During your initial training phase, you will complete a Level 4 qualification while gaining practical classroom experience. Training is aligned with:
- The Core Content Framework (CCF)
- Teachers’ Standards
- Reflective professional practice
- Behaviour management and lesson planning
- Safeguarding and inclusion
Phase One allows trainees to build confidence progressively within a supportive school setting.
Phase Two – PGCE and QTS
Successful trainees progress into Phase Two, where they move towards independent teaching while completing a PGCE with Coventry University and achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
