Grad2Teach have been asked by a lovely Secondary School in the St Albans area to train an History Teacher for a training opportunity set to begin in September 2021.

If you’re a determined, passionate and self-reflective graduate looking to start a career in teaching, Grad2Teach is your first step in the right direction. Our paid Initial Teacher Training programme offers a new opportunity to teach, train and – if successful – gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). With Grad2Teach you will work to complete a one-or-two-year course, with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). You will gain experience working in at least two schools, earning a salary as you train. Upon passing the course, you will have completed your PGCE and be a qualified teacher with QTS.

This a friendly school where several previous trainees from Grad2Teach have trained and have told us they are very happy. Ofsted rated the school as 'Good' on their last visit and the SMT are hopeful of achieving 'Outstanding' on the next visit. The school is in a highly diverse area of Hertfordshire and many children enter with below average language skills; however the staff are justifiably proud of their record of progression for these and all pupils at the school. There is a thriving families association at this school and the Head Teacher tells us that they provide invaluable support to both the curricular and extracurricular programs.

Requirements

To be eligible for this programme you must meet the following requirements:


  • Have a relevant, university degree with a minimum of a 2:2 classification

  • Have determination, resilience and a patient, caring attitude

  • Have at least one year of experience in a UK classroom

  • Have the confidence and ability to lead the class

  • Be able to demonstrate your resilience.
