Applications are open to Art and design graduates to join our salaried teacher training programme at an outstanding school in North Norfolk who work exclusively with Grad2Teach. The role of Trainee Art and Design teacher is intended for Art and Design graduates with at least a year of schools-based experience. Successful trainees will join our salaried teacher training programme which leads to QTS (Qualified teacher Status).
This is a school which serves a diverse area of North Norfolk. Behaviour standards have been a key area of focus in recent times and the SMT are proud of the huge improvements which have been made in this area. Pupil progression has been steadily improving and the school recently celebrated their best ever GCSE results in the core subjects of English, Maths and Science. As the school moves on to the next step of its development plan, some staff have been promoted and there is now scope for growth in the majority of faculties. You will be well supported while working full time and studying on our salaried teacher training programme.
Requirements
To be eligible for this programme you must meet the following requirements:
Have determination, resilience, and a patient, caring attitude.
Have a relevant university degree with a minimum of a 2:2 classification.
Preferably some experience in a UK classroom.
Have the confidence and ability to lead the class.
Be able to demonstrate your resilience.
Be able to train across all key stages to broaden your skillset.

In Training Phase 1, you will

Receive three Quality Assessment observations from one of our trainers in your employer school
Develop an understanding of what it means to be a great teacher
In Training Phase 2, you will
Attend 6 training days with our partner university
Complete 3 written assessments reflecting on your experience and what you’ve learned so far
Cover up to 90% of a teaching timetable within a classroom
Work under a dedicated learning mentor who will guide and advise you along your journey
Experience two contrasting school placements, allowing you to broaden your experience
